Welcome to TowardGod. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the TowardGod mobile application ("App") and website at towardgodapp.com ("Site"), operated by TowardGod ("we," "our," or "us").
By creating an account or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
You must be at least 13 years of age (or 16 years in the European Union) to create an account and use TowardGod. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.
If you are between 13 and 18 years of age, you confirm that a parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
Registration: You must provide a valid email address to create an account. We use passwordless magic link authentication — a secure link is sent to your email each time you log in.
Username: You may choose a public username. You are responsible for keeping your username appropriate and not misleading. Usernames that impersonate others, contain offensive language, or violate these Terms may be removed.
Account security: You are responsible for maintaining access to the email address associated with your account. Notify us immediately at support@towardgodapp.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
One account per person: Each person may maintain only one account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent suspensions or bans is prohibited.
TowardGod is a faith-based community for honest spiritual reflection. You agree to use the App in accordance with these Terms and our Community Guidelines.
You agree NOT to:
Community spirit: We encourage posts that reflect honesty, vulnerability, encouragement, and faith. While we do not endorse any particular denomination or theological position, we ask all users to engage with respect for the diversity of faith journeys represented in our community.
Your content: You retain ownership of the content you post. By posting content on TowardGod, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your content within the App and for promotional purposes related to the App.
Responsibility: You are solely responsible for the content you post. We do not endorse any user-generated content.
Content removal: We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms or our Community Guidelines, or that we deem inappropriate, at our sole discretion, without notice.
We provide in-app tools to report content that violates these Terms, including options for: Inappropriate content, Spam, Harassment, False information, and Other. Reports are reviewed by our team.
We may take the following actions in response to policy violations:
We also provide a block feature, allowing you to prevent specific users from interacting with your content.
By you: You may delete your account at any time through the App's settings. Upon deletion, your personal information will be removed and your posts will be anonymized per our Privacy Policy.
By us: We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice, if we determine you have violated these Terms. You may appeal by contacting us at support@towardgodapp.com.
The TowardGod App, including its design, logo, name, graphics, and software, is owned by or licensed to TowardGod and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App without our prior written consent.
The TowardGod name, logo, and related marks are trademarks of TowardGod. You may not use our trademarks without prior written permission.
The App uses third-party services including Supabase for backend infrastructure. Your use of these integrated services is also subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party service providers.
The App may contain links to external websites or services. We are not responsible for the content or practices of those external sites.
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that:
TowardGod is a community platform. We are not a religious organization, counseling service, or crisis intervention service. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis or emergency, please contact a qualified professional or emergency services immediately.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, TOWARDGOD SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED $100 USD OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO USE THE APP IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless TowardGod and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the App, your content, or your violation of these Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any dispute arising from these Terms or the App shall first be addressed through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, disputes shall be settled by binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. You waive your right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the effective date and, where appropriate, through an in-app notification. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
